Good evening, and welcome to the first of what I hope will be many live blogs this season. The Canucks are playing their 39th home opener, and they’ll be raising the 2008-09 Northwest Division championship banner tonight.
Hard to think that it’s going to be anything other than insane inside GM Place tonight. So let’s get it started….
First Period:
18:00 – Fairly good action so far. Canucks need to come out with a lot of jump. If they can get the first goal, the crowd might just drown the Blue Jackets.
17:00 – Rypien just crashed into someone, and then Hordichuk hit the guy again from behind, driving him into the glass. Pretty stupid hit by Hordy. Hopefully they can kill this off.
15:00 – Not a bad kill so far. Jackets aren’t really getting set up.
13:35 – Penalty is killed. Pretty fast paced game. Canucks really need to get the first goal here.
12:20 – Jeez, even Ryan Johnson is out there hitting people.
11:15 – Luongo makes a great save on a breakaway to keep the game scoreless. Ehrhoff takes a penalty trying to stop the breakaway. Again with the penalty trouble.
9:39 – Mason Raymond is playing like Alex Burrows. Head down, full tilt.
8:13 – Seeing Shirokov get a goal tonight would be just perfect.
7:30 – Good pressure by the Canucks, but this is seeming like one of those games that looks like one team is getting all the chances and then all of a sudden it’s 2-1 for the other team. Let’s hope not.
5:20 – According to @mozy19, the Canucks are being outshot 7-3 “Two PKs will do that to ya.”
4:20 – Goal! Henrik Sedin from Alex Burrows and Kevin Bieksa. Just what they needed.
3:13 – Finally – a Canucks powerplay. They came VERY close to making it a 2 goal lead. But now they’re 5 on 3. This is where they need to take advantage.
0:42 – Goal – WTF?!? Canucks give up a 3 on 2 while on the powerplay and the game is tied at 1. Talk about a momentum killer.
0:00 – Except for that one lapse at the end, the Canucks didn’t play too badly. Now they just need to get away from those lapses. That one really hurt. No way they should have given up a 3 on 2 while on the powerplay.
Second Period:
19:01 – HOW was Bernier that open in front of the net and he didn’t get a shot off?
17:53 – Goal. A 2 on 1 and Luongo backing up on the Husalius (sp?) shot. 2 – 1 for the Jackets.
15:40 – Bernier getting a hell of a lot of chances tonight, but nothing to show for it.
14:27 – Canucks feeling the pressure now. 3 – 1 for the Blue Jackets. Oh crap. 4 – 1. And Luongo is getting pulled. Andrew Raycroft is in.
12:37 – From Nucks Misconduct on Twitter: The mighty Raycroft era begins for the #canucks. Grab a drink folks, this could get ugly.
11:33 – Goal! Christian Ehrhoff on a great blast from the point. They needed that goal so badly it wasn’t funny.
9:40 – Fans cheering Raycroft’s first save. Luongo is going to be in a foul mood after this is all over.
8:35 – Canucks need to start pounding everything in white and get themselves back into this.
6:56 – If they can get out of this period no more than two down, they’ve got a chance to come back and win this thing. Getting at least one more would sure be good, though.
5:30 – O’B wants to go with Methot, but nothing’s going to come of it.
1:43 – I really didn’t think they’d be able to get the crowd back on their side, but they’ve done it. Get the feeling it’s just a matter of time till they get at least one more.
0:00 – That was a real ‘holy shit’ kind of period. The Canucks completely fell apart early in the third period, but surprisingly, refused to fold the tents and give in. After Luongo got pulled, they woke up and completely outplayed the Blue Jackets. If they play the third like they did the end of the second, I have a feeling they’ll be picking up two points tonight.
Third Period:
Sportsnet debating whether the Canucks should put Luongo back in for the third period. Explain to me again why these people get paid the money that they do?

End of Game
Mike the Yankee predicted that this game would have a few "guaranteed" moments. One of which was that a Sedin would take a bad penalty in the 3rd period. Turned out to not be a Sedin, but rather the guy who’s name rhymes with theirs. Mats Sundin’s penalty killed the Canucks after they battled back to tie the game at 4 with just about four minutes to go.
Twenty one seconds later, the Blues put the nail in the coffin, and the Canucks were done. Final score 6 – 4. And this was the "easy" game this weekend.
Maybe it’d be a good idea to bench LaBarbera for a game or two, and let Curtis Sanford play. It’s not like it could get worse.
Nobody on the Canucks played like they gave a damn about this game, and things like that need to change. Because even when Roberto Luongo does come back, it won’t mean a thing if the Canucks continue to play like they did tonight.
Okay, brush it off and focus on the Sharks tomorrow night. Because it’ll be an ugly weekend in Vancouver if the Canucks play two games in a row like that.
2nd Intermission
If there’s one thing that the Canucks have a habit of doing that will frustrate the hell out of you, it’s trying to sit on a lead against a team that they should have no problem beating.
And once again, it’s coming back to bite them.
Two goals in a 59-second span has them trailing the Blues in a game where they don’t appear to be playing with any enthusiasm at all, and it’s even being reflected in the crowd at GM Place, which sounds more quiet than I can remember at any time in recent memory. It’s not really fair to put the blame for thise whole thing on Jason LaBarbera, though. Through 40 minutes, the whole team has done pretty much nothing.
If the Canucks are thinking ahead to the Saturday night game against the Sharks, then Alain Vigneault needs to smack some people around and remind them that they’re playing *tonight* as well, and that’s what they need to be paying attention to over the last twenty minutes.
And that stat about the Canucks having a 17-5 record when they score the first goal doesn’t matter much anymore, because when they’re down after two periods, their record is nowhere near that good.
This period will go a long way to show what the Canucks are made of.
1st Intermission
Despite the fact that the Canucks were outplayed in the first period, they escaped with the lead, thanks to a late goal by Willie Mitchell, after Lawrence Nycholat gave the puck away in a brutal pass up the middle in his own end. Jannik Hansen opened the scoring after being called back up from Manitoba.
As Sportsnet has pointed out, the Canucks are 17-5-4 when they score the first goal of the game, so they odds are certainly in their favour. However, they’ll have to stay focused on the game, and not dwell on the fact that they’re opponent is one of the league’s bottom dwellers. That kind of thinking resulted in losses to both the New York Islanders and the Atlanta Thrashers.
It’d be nice to see Mats Sundin get his first points as a Canuck tonight, but more importantly, it’d be good to see them get the two points that they need to chase down the Calgary Flames, who are idle until next Tuesday. Wins tonight and against the Sharks would still leave them a point back, but a 1 point deficit is much easier to deal with than a 5-point one.

The liveblog is on again tonight at the Canucks Fanzone, so stop by and talk about the game, or what you think about the Sundin signing, and the fact that it’ll now be next Tuesday before he makes an appearance in Vancouver.

NOTE: My apologies about not posting during the 3rd period last night. The wireless connection died again.
Okay, so I’m a little late in starting. Blame the wireless connection in the house. I’ve decided to do a liveblog of the game, and Bobby’s going to have a recap when he gets home from the game tonight.
First Period:
11:30 – It certainly hasn’t been the wide-open style of game that you’d see when the Canucks play Calgary, for example. And it sounds like Bieksa might be out with an injury. He got hurt last year against the Preds, too. Hopefully that’s not a sign.
10:21 – First power play of the night. Hopefully this will go better than it did against the Red Wings the other night.
6:54 – Nice to see the defence coming to the aid of Luongo when the Preds get up in his face after the whistle. Penalties coming up, and it looks like it’s the Canucks that are going to be shorthanded. Figures.
1:00 – Stupendous. Now it looks like Burrows just took a stick in the face courtesy of Bonk, and the Canucks take a too-many-men penalty. They sure aren’t playing like the team that played so well in California a few days ago.
0:00 – Thank God that’s over. Now they can get their heads together and play the way that they’re capable of in the final two periods and win this one going away.
Second Period:
19:36 – TSN just announced what CNN reported a few minutes ago, that Barack Obama has been elected U.S. President.
18:27 – Luongo just made a great save, and it looks like the Canucks are still playing a little flat.
16:27 – TSN keeps pointing out that if the Canucks don’t score first that they’re probably going to lose. Thanks, guys.
15:03 – While the Canucks could sometimes be accused of playing boring hockey, it sure seems more obvious when they play another boring team. Not a lot of life to this game.
14:35 – Back to the power play for the locals. Time to get the monkey off the back.
12:40 – Great play by Bieksa to break up a 2 on 1 after the Canucks failed to capitalize on the power play again. Also good to see that Bieksa wasn’t too badly hurt in the first period.
12:02 – And Hordichuk gets run into the boards by a former teammate, and the Canucks are back on the power play. Not that it seems to matter much tonight.
10:50 – Okay, so what do I know? Kyle Wellwood pushes the puck in, and it’s 1 – 0 for the Canucks.
10:45 – Strange that with all of the crap that Wellwod took before being sent down, he comes back to cover for Demitra, and he’s now the Canucks’ leading scorer this year. Weird.
9:33 – Maybe TSN will start pointing out now that the Canucks are 5 – 1 when they score first. It’s a better stat, boys. Man, Shane O’Brien can fight, taking on Hornetsky (?) and landing three bombs. Watching it on the replay showed Darcy Hordichuk jawing with him and then O’Brien just stepped in.
8:59 – Bit of a late hit by Edler and he puts the Canucks a man down. Not something Alex does very often.
6:30 – A better PK for the Canucks and they’ve still got the lead.
3:40 – A couple of good wild scrambles in front of the Preds goal, but nothing is going in. For some reason, I don’t think just one goal’s going to be enough tonight.
0:45 – Final minute, and it’s time to just get to the dressing room with the lead.
0:00 – Well that was a better effort. The Canucks can’t sit on this lead, though. One goal probably isn’t going to get the win tonight. Thankfully, though, they don’t appear to be trying to just hold the lead. We’ll see how the third period goes, though.

Pregame
Unless something amazing happens tonight (Go Panthers), it looks like the Wild are going to pick up another win tonight in Florida, so the Canucks will need to win to keep pace, both with the Wild and the Flames who go with the Ducks tonight. I’ll be posting about that while we’re updating this game.
Roberto Luongo was less than a little pleased with the effort in the last minute of the game against the Avs, and didn’t mind speaking out about it. While it wasn’t a particularly bad effort by the Canucks, they certainly fell apart at the wrong time. Hopefully that won’t happen again.
The Jackets are 4-4-2 in their last 10, but they’re playing to get into the post season, so the Canucks have to jump out early in this one and then slam the door going into the third period. We’ll see if that happens in about 3 hours.
First Period
20:00 – Weird. No Jim Hughson doing the play-by-play.
18:56 – A former Canuck chops down a current Canuck. Peca brings down Naslund and the Canucks go to the powerplay. And, before I finish typing this, Kesler evens it up. Way to go, Kes.
17:00 – Not a whole lof life to this game yet. They’ve got to wake up out there.
15:00 – Canucks can’t get anything going. They either get stopped at the blue line, or they dump it in and chase it. No setup at all.
14:30 – Back to the powerplay. Hopefully a longer one than the last.
13:30 – Much better. Canucks score but it’s waved off because they’re claiming that Nazzy interfered with Leclaire. Pretty weak call if you ask me.
12:00 – Some better pressure now, but they’re really just getting shots from the outside.
9:25 – And Shannon goes off for a pick that’s called interference. There’s really no life in this game yet. I believe a fight might be called for.
8:00 – MySpace with an all right chance on the PK.
7:22 – Shannon puts one in after coming out of the box and the good guys are up 1 – 0. Good passing play by Pyatt to set it up.
4:30 – Ducks are up by one on the Flames. Go Ducks.
0:00 – End of the first period. Seems like a typical later season non-divisional game, with neither team giving the appearance that they care about the game being played. Hopefully the Canucks will realize that they need every win they can get before they fall asleep.
But they are 25-6-3 when they open the scoring, so that’s a good sign. Just as good, the Ducks are up by a pair on the Flames.
Second Period
15:50 – Sigh. Canucks going back on the PK thanks to Kevin Bieksa’s hooking call. This is an important kill.
15:27 – It’s been said before, but it bears repeating – Great Save Luongo.
13:45 – And that’s another penalty killed. And then this Jared Boll kid takes a run at Luongo and cracks his arm off the post. Looks painful, but I’m willing to bet Luongo’s not going anywhere.
12:50 – Good passing between the twins, Naslund and Salo. Keep this up and it’ll be a 2-0 game soon.
11:00 – This game’s starting to get a little spirit. Scrums after the whistle and all. Still nothing on the powerplay, unfortunately.
8:58 – Now THAT is what Sami Salo needs to do more often. Crank one off from the point, and the Canucks are up 2 – 0.
5:55 – And now a pretty good fight between Rick Rypien and Tomlinson. Rypien landed some great shots, so we’ll give him the win on that one.
2:40 – Canucks seem to be trying to hang on here. With a full 20 minutes left, that’s not a good thing.
0:00 – Well, they got through those last couple of minutes, so they’re looking pretty good going into the third period. The one thing they need to avoid, though, is trying to sit on the lead for the whole final period. If you’re gonna win 2-0, why not 4-0?
Third Period
15:00 – This feels a lot like the first period. Not much to write about.
14:42 – Jackets score to cut the lead in half. Time to get your heads out of your ass, guys, or you’re going to find yourselves playing overtime again.
13:32 – Rick Nash on a breakaway, and now it’s REALLY a whole new game. Score is tied, and I don’t have a good feeling about the rest of this.
11:42 – Canucks go back to the powerplay, and NOW is the time that they have to take advantage, and show that they give a damn about making the playoffs.
10:40 – And that’s another goal the Cancuks have had disallowed tonight, although this one was a high stick. Frustrating, though.
5:30 – Sigh. They look like they’re playing to get to overtime. Again.
0:00 – And, for the *19th* time this year, the Canucks are going to overtime. I’d bet my next paycheque that this game goes to a shootout.
Overtime
3:53 – Well, that was quick. Jason Chimera wins it for the CBJ. A total collapse at a time when they couldn’t afford one. As much as I hate to say it, they got the result that they played for.

Pregame:
Well, it’s time to see if the Canucks can put together something like what they did last year. Otherwise they’re going to be golfing in April rather than playing hockey. They have to get it out of their heads that Luongo is always going to bail them out. The guy’s human. Eventually he’s going to get to the point where he won’t give a damn if the rest of the team doesn’t.
The amazing thing is, that they can actually get back into a tie for 2nd place in the division with a win tonight. Quite amazing if you ask me.
BTW, if you’ve come by the site via Twitter, I’d like to thank you for taking the time to drop in. Feel free to leave a comment, or just check back regularly for my thoughts on the situation. If it gets bad, I’ll probably crack a beer or two. No, wait. That’s if it goes well. If it goes bad, it’s likely to be more.
20:00 – Spirited game from the start. Cooke boots Ritchie and tells him to take the opening faceoff to avoid a fight with Stortinni.
19:39 – And Luongo stops a breakaway in the first minute. Daniel takes a penalty and then fights break out across the ice. Hmmm….I might not need beer to enjoy this one.
18:00 – A good PK. Nice to see this game have some life, unlike some Canucks games.
16:45 – And Markus Naslund gets the good guys on the board with a bit of a soft goal that Garron should have had. Who cares? They locals are up.
15:00 – Kesler rand into a tree named Greene and Isbister jumped to his defense. It was a hell of an open ice hit, though.
14:21 – Daniel runs into Garron and everyone gathers agin. Holy crap did Garron ever play that one up.
13:40 – Jeez, this is like a playoff game. Which, in a twisted way, it kind of is.
12:10 – Canucks go on the PP after Nazzy almost puts them up 2-0.
7:13 – Yet another scrum. Those get boring after awhile. Almost routine.
5:29- And Luongo appears to be a little shaken up, favouring his hand. Hopefully there’s not a problem here.
3:25 – This is better. They’re almost playing like they did in the second half of last year.
1:18- Sam Gagner to Marty Reasoner and we’ve got a tie game. Leaving someone open in front of the net like that will burn you every time.
:36 – Bit of a momentum shift here. Oilers seem to have it now, right up until Stortinni slashes and breaks someone’s stick.
First period summary: Bit of an up and down period for the Canucks as they both carried and lost the momentum. They’re going to need to get it back and, most importantly, DO something with it once they’ve got it back. They played a lot better than they have lately, but working for only a part of the game just ain’t gonna cut it.
19:41 – Second period underway, and the Canucks are now going to have a 5 – 3 advantage after Naslund got pulled down. NOW is the time.
19:06 – Salo launches one, shatters Staios’ stick and it still goes in. 2 – 1 for the home team.
18:10 – Ouch. *That*, folks, is why you don’t block shots if you can help it.
16:19 – As Hughson would say, "Great save Luongo!!"
13:48 – Time to capitalize, boys. Oh, and since this the first time I’ve heard his name, Happy B-Day Luc Bourdon. Some great pressure and Staios takes a penalty to put the Canucks back on the powerplay.
13:00 – Well, nice to see Bieksa skating again. Hopefully it won’t be too long before he’s back.
12:00 – Jeez, you guys don’t show much, do ya? DO SOMETHING WITH IT.
Posted on Feb 16, 2008 under Canucks |
It’s been awhile since there’s been any activity around here, but to be honest, it’s been awhile since the Canucks have given me much to post about anyway, so we’re even. When I last posted, the Canucks were second in the Northwest, and 5th in the West. Today, they’re out of the playoffs, in 9th place, and 4th in their division.
But, amazing as it seems, with a win over the Oilers tonight they can jump back into a tie for 2nd in the division, but still 6 points back of the Wild.
Anyway, the liveblogged games are always a little more fun, so maybe that’ll keep it from getting too painful if they come up short again.
See y’all at 7 o’clock.
Posted on Dec 08, 2007 under Canucks |
Pre-game: Okay, I know the kid is good, but could we please talk about something other than Sidney Crosby? Please? According to Ryan Kesler and the CBC, it looks like the Kesler line is going to be shadowing Crosby tonight. That’ll be a little interesting. I wonder if Kes will be able to get Crosby P.O.’d and off his game….
My prediction for the night? 4 – 2 for the Canucks, and Crosby is at least in on both goals. If he doesn’t score both, that is.
Jeez, Paul Maurice is trying to explain why the Leafs lost, and he’s acting like someone died for God’s sake. Hey, Maurice, the Leafs lost because they suck. Deal with it and move on, K?
Weird. Mark Donnelly isn’t wearing a tux for the anthem singing. First time I think I”ve seen that. Yeah, it’s a slow night. But that’ll change in just a couple of minutes.
19:20 – Willie Mitchell takes a double minor for high-sticking Crosby. People would have been seriously choked to see the kid knocked out in the first minute of the game.
14:30 – Maxime Talbot takes a penalty after the Canucks kill the penalty. Time for the powerplay to do something.
13:40 – And MySpace takes a penalty for hooking Crosby. The kid has drawn six minutes worth of penalties and the game is only six minutes old. Looks like it’s going to be one of those nights.
11:30 – Crosby take a bit of a dive in a post-whistle skirmish, and Evgeni Malkin goes to the box for retaliation. Hopefully this one will last a little longer.
10:17 -Canucks are back on their heels for this powerplay, at least up until about the last 30 seconds of it. This is a little better.
8:55: Good save by Luongo ,as the Canucks are struggling a little. They’re getting out-skated by the Pens.
7:13 – If this keeps up, it’s going to be a long night in Canucks land. They’re playing like they often do after a road trip. Like they just don’t give a damn.
5:09 – Back to the powerplay as Mark Eaton takes a hooking call. Now would be the time to get involved in this game, boys.
3:22 – Great play by Aaron Miller, diving to knock the puck away from the Pens coming in on the net.
1:34 – Ohlund gets caught out of position, allowing an odd man rush and Peter Sykora puts the puck behind Luongo. 1 – 0 Penguins.
First period summary: Looks like a typical Canucks game. They float around for the first period, and generally tend to wake up in the 2nd and 3trd. We’ll see if that happens tonight.
—
18:55 – And we’re underway in the second. Looks like Mike, the Yankee Canuck is going to chip in and help out with the live blogging for at least the 2nd period. Thanks, Mike.
17:00 – And Pyatt sits in the box again, this time for holding the stick. And a game with two supposedly good teams has very little life so far.
16:21 – [Mike] Kesler isn’t abusing Crosby WHY??? By the by, I’m happy to help and hopefully will not sully your site with my profuse usage of the word “f***monkey”.
14:30 – [Mike] Ugh, the flightless birds have far more energy then the killer whales. National Geographic is speechless.
13:50 – For God’s sake, Mitchell, get OFF the goalie!
12:20 – Hey, no worries. Anything you want to say is fine by me. Canucks currently being outshot 18 – 8. This is not good.
9:35 – Finally, a little bit of life from the home team. I don”t remember Sabourin playing like this when he was here.
8:00 – Canucks are playing more like expected, coming on in the second period. You get the feeling that it’s just a matter of time till they score.
6:00 – Ryan Malone goes after Alex Burrows and Matt Cooke gets involved. I”m not sure if he intended to go with Malone, considering the size difference, but it’s a rare fight for Cookie. He did go after Malone pretty high, though. Malone just wanted to go with anyone, I think and didn’t care who.
3:28 – Jeff Cowan just got his bell rung by Georges Laracque, after Laracque got knocked on his ass by Alex Burrows. Cowan’s probably wondering why a building fell on him and tried to put him through the boards.
1:08 – Crosby sits for a couple of minutes after knocking Isbister off his feet. Hopefully he won’t sit for the whole two minutes.
Second period summary: As usual, the Canucks played better in the second and just ran out of time before they had a chance to score. If they aren’t careful in the third they could suddenly find themselves down by more than one. They need to take advantage of the powerplay that they’ve got going from the start of the final period.
—
19:40 – And we’re off again. Canucks seem a little flat at the start. Doesn’t look like they’re going to do much with this powerplay.
17:50 – Sure doesn’t look like it’s going to be a 4-2 game at this point. Why did I think that the Canucks would be involved in anything other than a one goal game?
16:22 Ryan Kesler just walked in and put a wrist shot by Sabourin who was out a little too far to stop that shot. 1 – 1 game.
16:10 – Jarko Ruutu just about put the Pens back up back into the lead and then he gets into a scrap with Isbister. He ran over Isbister from behind, and takes no penalty. Welcome home, Jarko.
15:22 – Pretty much a crap call, but I have a feeling that things might get evened up in the next minute or so.
13:50 – This has turned into something more like what you would expect when the Canucks play Calgary. Kind of wide open and end to end play. Nothing like the boring games against the Wild. God, I can’t wait for the schedule reform next year. And the Canucks are going back on the PK as Kraijeck goes off. Not too concerned.
12:17 – [Mike] Any word on Cowan?
11:01 – Not that I’ve heard. Oops…just heard. He’s done with a shoulder injury.
10:30 – [Mike] Never really thought about it, but I’ve decided Gary Roberts can go to hell. I’ll give the Pens this much: they are a lot dirtier then I gave them credit for. Not a bad combination of massive youthful talent and a bunch of jobbers. But hey, it’s Pittsburgh, a tough town to begin with.
8:00 – And that ad for JD made me think about taking a shot. No room for error now. Or you’ll be on the losing end.
6:26 – [Mike] Seriously, I have Canadian Mist whiskey next to me (it’s the cheapest whiskey, I cannot be blamed for the selection). I consider that good luck in this match.
2:00 – Right now the Canucks are playing to not lose this game. Looks like the first period all over.
1:22 – [Mike] On separate plays, Sami Salo puts both Crosby and Malkin on their asses as they drove towards Luongo. Good stuff.
0:00 – Oh yeah. And it’s time for a little four on four. Should be interesting as long as the Canucks play like they did in the 2nd.
—
And the overtime begins…
4:16 – [Mike] The Canucks always seem better at 4×4. Maybe that’s because of the Sedins, but OT is rarely as scary as a first period for Vancouver. How messed up is that?
2:30 – PENALTY SHOT??? WTF? Crosby got the shot away! Miller didn’t have much of a choice, but still….
2:30 – [Mike] Luongo > Crosby. Suck it kid.
0:00 – Aw hell…not another shootout….Ya gotta think that the Canucks have the advantage with Luongo in goal.
Shootout
- [Mike] Trevor ties it and Crosby misses his second shootout shot against Lui tonight. Advantage back to the Canucks for Myspace…and he tags the post. Damn it.
- [Mike] Ruutu misses and that opens it for Nazzy who gets poke checked by Sabby before he gets the shot off. The game tilts back to the Pens and Malkin…and Frankenstein can’t beat Lui either.
- [Mike] Daniel is AWFUL at the damn shootout, Sabby could have sat still and read a magazine and he would have been fine. Ugh…the Pens now take a run with Letang? Seriously, that’s a name? Well, whatever he wins the game for the Pens. A minor note…the back up to Sabby is Conklin…wow, the
Pens are all kinds of silly on that roster.
Well, that’s it I guess. It wasn’t too bad of a game, despite the outcome. I’ve gotta thank Mike, the Yankee Canuck for staying up till almost 2 in the morning to get through this. That’s what I call dedication. Very much appreciated, though. Thanks.

I’ve decided that I’m going to live blog the game against the Canucks tonight. To be honest, I think I’ve been looking forward to this game more than most lately. Anyway, the live blog will be starting at 7:00pm tonight.
Comments will be appreciated. Or email rod@canucknation.ca with your thoughts.
